She can’t help herself, can she? As the world geared up for the release of her documentary Homecoming, centred around her iconic 2018 Coachella performance, Beyoncé went and gave fans an extra special surprise on top of that – a live album of the same name.
True to form, Beyoncé gave no warning that the album was coming, much like she’s done for her three previous albums – 2013’s Beyoncé, 2016’s Lemonade and 2018’s joint album with husband Jay-Z Everything Is Love.
The live album is a staggering 40 tracks along but also features some new music from Queen Bey. She performs a cover of 1981’s ‘Before I Let Go’, originally performed by Frankie Beverly and Maze. On top of that, there’s also a recording of Beyoncé’s eldest daughter, Blue Ivy, singing ‘Lift Every Voice & Sing.’
Of course, the documentary has also been released on Netflix which gives us our first high definition look at her groundbreaking Coachella performance since it was originally streamed on YouTube last year.
