The whole world has gone god damn batshit over Billie Eilish, and it turns out Australia might be the most batshit. Eilish currently holds six of the top 10 spots on the ARIA Charts.
Her new single ‘Bad Guy’ currently sits pretty atop the charts. Further down, previously released singles ‘Bury A Friend’, ‘Wish You Were Gay’ and ‘When The Party’s Over’ make an appearance at #3, #5 and #7 respectively. The latter managed to chart at #8 in a different countdown earlier this year – 2018’s Triple J’s Hottest 100.
Finally, two new cuts – ‘All Good Girls Go To Hell’ and ‘Xanny’ – come in at #8 and #10 respectively. Elsewhere on the countdown, six other Eilish tracks charted – ‘My Strange Addiction’, ‘I Love You’, ‘Ilomilo’, ‘Listen Before I Go’, ‘8’ and the previously released ‘You Should See Me In A Crown’.
That is a staggering 12 songs out of a 14 song album – When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? dropped last Friday – making the ARIA top 50. She has also broken a record held by Ed Sheeran, who had five tracks in the top following the 2017 release of his last album ÷ (divide).
Sounds like the perfect time for Billie Eilish to capitalise on this, and lucky for us she is. At the end of the month she’ll be heading down our way for a massive headlining tour as well as headline slot at Groovin The Moo festival.
