Billy Corgan has unveiled the titles of eight new Smashing Pumpkins songs ahead of the band’s Shiny And Oh So Bright pseudo-reunion tour.
ICYMI: The Corganator has hooked back up with OG bandmates James Iha and Jimmy Chamberlin for a fresh world tour featuring the band performing classic tracks from their first five albums, however the whole thing’s been somewhat overshadowed by an ugly stink surrounding bassist D’arcy Wretzky’s exclusion from proceedings.
Nonetheless, Corgan has continued teasing new tunes from the reunited trio, and he’s now released the names of a bunch of them via Instagram.
Revealing that he, Iha, and Chamberlin would be returning to Malibu next week “to sing shiny new lyrics and cut final guitar overdubs” for eight songs, he went on to list the titles of the fresh crop of recordings (which are apparently being produced by the legendary Rick Rubin) as ‘Alienation’, ‘Travels’, ‘Silvery Sometimes’, ‘Solara’, ‘With Sympathy’, ‘Marchin’ On’, ‘Knights of Malta’, and ‘Seek and You Shall Destroy’.
It’ll be interesting to see if any of them end up being the band’s next ‘Bullet With Butterfly Wings’ or ‘Disarm’.
Corgan, Iha, and Chamberlin haven’t recorded together since The Pumpkins’ 2000 double LP, Machina.
FYI the Pumpkinhead’s accompanying pic on Insta appears to be some kind of quote referencing himself, likely in light of D’arcy Wretzky’s incredible spray against him recently.
