Billy Corgan Talks Marilyn Manson Soundwave Team-Up

While both Marilyn Mason and Smashing Pumpkins delivered huge sets at Soundwave last night, there’s a chance the greatest moment of Soundwave is yet to come — Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan saying he’d “love to” once more team up with Manson live on stage.

Manson joined the band on stage in London back in December for an encore performance of Third Day Of A Seven Day Binge, a cut from his latest album The Pale Emperor, as well as Smashing Pumpkins’ own Ava Adore.

Speaking to Music Feeds from Soundwave Festival, Corgan said the pair have already spoken about the possibility of future live collaborations. “We kind of joked about it so I don’t know if that’s going to happen or not,” he said.

“I particularly love this song on his new album called Third Day of A Seven Day Binge — that’s the song he sang. We actually played one of his songs when he got on stage with us, so maybe we could get up there and play with him, or he could get on stage and play with us. Or something like that. I’d love to.”

If the door opens for the pair to collaborate Corgan guaranteed, “Well, it has to be a very dark door. This is Manson.”

They’re in the same city, at the same festival, on the same day. Let’s get it done, guys.

Check out the full interview, where Corgan also talks about the plans for his next album, as well as epic shots from both artists’ Soundwave Melbourne sets, below.
