Billy Corgan has debuted a brand new Smashing Pumpkins song for fans at a VIP event in San Fransisco.
The ‘VIP experience’ (Q&A and acoustic performance) kicked off with a scarf and beanie-clad Billy Corgan performing the melancholy track, which features classic Pumpkins minor chords and Corgan’s distinctive vocal lilt.
“Bless me,” he sings in refrain, as Pumpkins die-hards surely tear up in the audience. It appears, after all these years, that Corgan still has it.
On the weekend, Corgan also surprisingly reunited with original Smashing Pumpkins members James Iha and Jimmy Chamberlin for the first time in 16 years and performed a collection of tracks from their famous 1993 album Siamese Dream.
Smashing Pumpkins released their eighth album Monuments to an Elegy in 2014.
