Perth five-piece Birds Of Tokyo have announced the arrival of a new EP, titled Anchor, and to celebrate they will be heading out for a string of national shows this June.
The national tour will kick off on Wednesday, 3rd June at Melbourne’s 170 Russell and will include stops in Adelaide, Brisbane and Sydney. The band will be supported by Ecca Vandal.
The Anchor EP will follow up Bird Of Tokyo’s 2013 hit album March Fires and, as previously reported, was made in collaboration with Tool/Muse producer David Bottrill.
The band have also shared the EP’s slow-burning title track (below). The EP will be released this Friday, 24th April and according to a previous statement by frontman Ian Kenny, the band are “going to get together and write the next record mid this year or the end of this year.”
Before that though, Kenny will have his hands full touring with his other project, Karnivool, who are about to kick off their national Themata anniversary tour.
See the Birds Of Tokyo upcoming tour dates below. The band will also making a number of festival appearances in the coming months including Darwin’s Bass in the Grass and SOTA in Perth.
