The main support slot for the very much-talked-about Black Sabbath Australian tour this year has now been announced. Drum roll please. Our very own adopted rockers Shihad will be warming the crowd for the full tour.
The show is an absolutely huge honour for the ex-Kiwis, as this will be the first time Black Sabbath have played our stages in 40 years. That’s twice my age – in case you were wondering.
After 25 years of being a band, Shihad have released 8 albums, 4 of which took to number #1 in their homeland. They’ve toured the globe enough times to lose count and even been honoured by an induction into the New Zealand Music Hall of Fame. The boys are showing no signs of slowing down either, having announced plans to kick off 2013 with a brand spanking new album, recorded in Egypt and Spain with producer Jaz Coleman of Killing Joke.
This is sure to be not only a boyhood dream for the band, but for everyone else who’s ever listened to rock. There are sure to be many, many people living vicariously through the Shihad as they tour with Black Sabbath this April.
Tickets are on sale for the show now; for more info on the tour click through to here.
