Blink-182‘s Tom DeLonge has revealed that the band “barely spoke” to eachother, and the band “weren’t even in the same room” during the recording of their most recent album Neighbourhoods.
In an interview with Billboard, DeLonge went into the details about the recording of the band’s comeback album last year, saying the atmosphere in the studio was palpable.
“We weren’t even in the same room. We were barely talking; we were in different studios. No one really commented on eachother’s parts, no one pressed anyone’s buttons. Everyone was on eggshells.”
Having said that, DeLonge said that the band morale is far improved now with the impending release of the new EP Dogs Eating Dogs on December 18.
The band are releasing the EP independently following a split from their old record label Interscope.
“We’re connecting and laughing and making jokes and making fun of eachother,” he said. “There was no laughing on Neighbourhoods“.
