Bliss N Eso Reveal Details Of New Album, ‘The Sun’

Aussie hip-hop titans Bliss N Eso have announced their long awaited return today with the release of new single, ‘OG’s’, alongside rap young gun Chillinit.

The release of ‘OG’s’ comes alongside the announcement of details around Bliss N Eso’s forthcoming seventh album, The Sun.

Due out on Friday, 27th August, The Sun will be the trio’s first album in four years, following on from 2017’s Off The GridThe Sun features a smorgasbord of features from all over the world, with Kasey Chambers, Dizzee Rascal, Fergus James and more all set to make appearances.

Of course, we have already heard a string of songs taken from the forthcoming album. Alongside ‘OG’s’, we’ve also heard ‘Lighthouse’ with Jake Isaac, ‘So Happy’ with Sonreal, ‘Send It’ as well as the Kasey Chambers collab ‘Good People’.

Speaking of the inspiration behind the album, the collective recount a story from their time in the studio.

“On one of the first days of recording for The Sun, a Rainbow Lorikeet fell from the sky with an injured wing and got tangled up in the bushes right outside our studio,” they said.

“The bird reminded us of our rainbow winged angel that has graced all our album covers throughout our years. The angel is a symbol of embracing a full colour spectrum of creativity and harnessing your dreams with the power of positive thoughts and actions. This bird falling from the sky was like a like a beautiful gentle reminder of this and where we came from.

“We went out to the garden and picked it up, brought it inside, gave it food and water, nurtured it, and helped it recover. When it was well again, we set it free back into the wild. That bird was like the music, we picked it back up, we nurtured it, brought it back to life and set it free again.”

The Sun is out Friday, 27th August. Listen to ‘OG’s’ below.
