Blood On The Dancefloor Still Heading To Australia Despite Soundwave Cancellation

Fresh from dropping off the Soundwave 2013 line-up last night, Blood on the Dancefloor are still planning to come to Australia for some “signings” to promote their new album.

The news comes as promoter AJ Maddah reveals a few more details about why the band were suddenly removed from the bill, and why they were initially part of it in the first place.

Through a reply to a fan via his Twitter account today (what else?!) Maddah claimed that the band could no longer fulfil their Soundwave commitments as “one of them quit and they don’t have enough time to replace before SW”.

However, a few other tweets issued by Maddah give the impression that may not have been the case. Instead, some poor ticket sales for the band’s sideshows may have contributed to the decision.

In a reply to his initial tweet last night, which declared that he was “super pleased” to announce Blood on the Dancefloor had dropped out of Soundwave 2013, Maddah claimed that only six tickets had been sold to the band’s sideshows in Melbourne and Sydney.

The band (and their fans) must have also rubbed Maddah up the wrong way at some stage, with the Soundwave boss adding in the tweet that “all I got from their cunty fans was winging”. In another tweet to another fan, he also revealed that he only booked the band initially due to “a moment of drunken indiscretion at a Japanese restaurant in LA”.

Blood on the Dancefloor plugged their appearance at the Adelaide leg of Soundwave on their Facebook page yesterday afternoon.

Very interesting indeed. Anyway, as we alluded to up top, the band have decided that they want to come to Australia anyway, promising to do some signings for their new album Bad Blood upon its release on our shores.

Australia we love you! Do not lose hope as we will be doing signings in your country once Bad Blood releases. We will see you soon. Promise!” they tweeted yesterday.
