Dev Hynes (AKA Blood Orange) has cancelled his scheduled Australian shows in Melbourne and Sydney, due to a family member’s ill health.
“I was looking forward to visiting Australia this year,” Hynes says. “Unfortunately due to personal and family matters, and after much consideration, I’ve decided to cancel these shows to spend time with my family. Sending love in the new year.”
Hynes was scheduled to perform a headline show in Sydney this month, as well as a set at Melbourne’s Sugar Mountain festival. Following Hynes’ cancellation, Sugar Mountain organisers have announced four new acts for their 2017 lineup — local plunderphonics heroes The Avalanches, their mate Spank Rock, rapper Young Tapz and electronic duo HABITS. Set times for the festival are also said to be dropping “real soon”.
Fans who purchased tickets to Blood Orange’s Sydney show at the Enmore Theatre will receive refunds through Ticketek. Tickets purchased by credit card will be refunded automatically, while punters who made cash or EFTPOS purchases will be contacted with instructions for how to obtain their refunds.
