Boston-based event planning company Blue Ivy Events have won the right to continue trading under their name following a trademark battle with Jay-Z and Beyonce.
HOVA and B were keen to launch a line of baby products named after their first child Blue Ivy Carter, who was born earlier this year.
This led to Blue Ivy Events owner Veronica Alexandra going through a series of hurdles to try and defend her company’s name.
However, Fox News Boston reports that Alexandra won the battle and trademark protection for the name ‘Blue Ivy’ in a decision handed down on Tuesday. The ruling means the Carters have no legal rights to keep the name to themselves.
The decision hasn’t resulted in any hard feelings though – Blue Ivy Events’ website is currently featuring a picture of Jay-Z and Beyonce along with a message that reads “Congrats to our soul mate couple with baby Blue Ivy.”
