Byron Bay Bluesfest has added the master of Margaritaville himself, Jimmy Buffet, to its 2017 lineup.
Buffet and his band The Coral Reefers will perform exclusively at Bluesfest during their upcoming trip down under, where they’re sure to drop a bunch of classic tracks like ‘Cheeseburger In Paradise’ and ‘Changes In Latitudes, Changes In Attitudes’.
With a discography that’s over 50 albums strong, Buffett has a vault of tracks to choose from, and is ready to let loose with Aussie Parrotheads this Easter long weekend.
“When Jimmy Buffett isn’t sailing on his yacht, or hanging out at his beach shack in the Caribbean, he plays where and when he wants to… and he has chosen Bluesfest this time,” says Bluesfest Festival Director Peter Noble.
“Yes there are restaurants and hotels named after his famous song, ‘Margaritaville.’ When Jimmy does decide to go on tour, he is one of the highest grossing artists anywhere. This is a coup, and Bluesfest is proud to bring him to our stage.”
Buffett joins a Bluesfest lineup which already includes the likes of Patti Smith, Billy Bragg & Joe Henry, Santana, The Doobie Brothers, The Lumineers and Jethro Tull, and the festival is promising even more artist announcements in the coming weeks.
