Sydney’s BREAKING ORBIT have released their long-awaited debut album The Time Traveller and have announced additional national tour dates for November and December to add to their album launch shows earlier in the year.
The band have taken their Tool-inspired progressive hard rock around the country over the past few years, including supports with Dead Letter Circus and Thousand Needles In Red.
Originally formed in 2005 as Nucleus, the band found success following the 2009 Progfest tour when their track ‘Orion’ hit national radio. Following this, the band went through a number of lineup changes and a name change, finally emerging as Breaking Orbit and reuniting with original bassist Ayden Mitrovitch in 2011 (following his temporary departure to join former Butterfly Effect frontman Clint Boge’s Thousand Needles In Red project).
Now, after an extensive recording and production process, the album has been released.
Featuring a more cinematic approach to their previous efforts, the record is polished, and showcases some dramatic melodic tracks, alongside a masterful rhythm section.
Breaking Orbit recently launched the album to a packed house at Sydney’s Annandale Hotel and are toured throughout September, including shows with sleepmakeswaves and Sydonia.
These upcoming November and December dates will feature regional, metropolitan, and the band’s first ever WA dates at Progfest in Perth.
