Teaming up with Rick Holland, whom he met in the late 90s during the the Map-Making project (a series of collaborative works between students of the Royal College, the Guildhall School of Music, the Royal Academy of Music, the Royal College of Music, the National Youth Orchestra and the English National Ballet, among others), Brian Eno is set to release his second album on Warp, entitled Drums Between The Bells, the follow up to 2010’s Small Craft On Milk Sea.
The legendary producer, musician and technical innovator who’s worked with everyone from Talking Heads to Coldplay and who’s pioneering work in ambient music paved the way for modern electronica, reignited a long running if infrequent collaborative relationship with Holland earlier this year, resolving to finish the project they began playing around with back in the early 90s.
You can listen to Glitch, a song from the album at Eno’s website, although beware as this is no journey through blissful ambience, rather a nervous and glitchy (no surprise for that one) acid house meets IDM piece of freakiness littered with Germanic sounding robot lyrics and insane synth explosions.
