Last week, Briggs took to Twitter to share the news he was planning on going live on Instagram to cook a dish from The Simpsons alongside Ben Shewry, chef and owner of Melbourne restaurant Attica.
The rapper and label head reached out to followers for suggestions on what to cook up for the event, with everything from steamed hams to space-age moon waffles offered up as possible menu options. It even netted responses from past Simpsons writers such as Bill Oakley and Josh Weinstein, the latter contributing choices such as the chillis from the cookoff, a cake to ruin, or something from Moe’s Family Feedbag.
Now, Briggs has announced that the cook-off will indeed be taking place – this Saturday (2nd May), to be exact. It’ll all be going down live from 7PM over on the rapper’s Instagram page, in what’s been dubbed ‘Briggs and Sideshow Ben Shewry Super Simpsons Saturday Cookoff’.
Earlier this month, Briggs shared new music in the form of ScoMo-skewering ‘HouseFyre’, a collaboration with Tim Minchin that came with a socially-distanced DIY music video.
