Brisbane Alt-Rock Favourites Stateside Are Breaking Up

Beloved Brisbane alt-rockers Stateside are hanging up their guitars after six years of thrilling mosh pits all over Australia.

But there’s one silver lining, with the band also readying the release of a brand new EP as their final gift to fans.

“We couldn’t be more excited to announce that the music video for our brand new single ‘Low’, taken from our new EP Havøc, will be available this Thursday,” the band wrote on social media. “However, we do have some bittersweet news.”

Their statement continues:

“After 6 years of being a band, growing up together & chasing this dream, we have also grown apart & found we all want to go in different directions with our lives, and so with this, ‘Havøc’ will be our final EP & our final gift to you; the people who have supported us every step of the way. We are forever in your debt and can’t thank each and every one of you enough for this journey we’ve shared together. Whether you’ve just checked us out, been a long time fan, just come to a show, bought a shirt, given us a place to sleep or even just told a friend about us, we can’t thank you enough.

We don’t want this news to be sad, however we want to use this time as a celebration of our new EP ‘Havøc’. The last 6 years of this band has gone into this EP and it is a celebration of all our personal growth & accomplishments. We hope that you love it as much as we do & we can’t for you all to hear it!

Love forever,
Stateside.”

On a personal note, as well as being an amazing band, Stateside are absolutely top humans to boot. I had the pleasure of booking them on the inaugural UsFest last year and they absolutely crushed that gig. Big love to Erin and the boys & all the best to them for the future!
