September’s Brisbane Festival is set to return for another year, bolstered by a healthy and very eclectic music lineup featuring the likes of Megan Washington, Powderfinger’s Bernard Fanning, Katie Noonan, and a new Australian concert series celebrating the music of Tim and Jeff Buckley.
Brisbane Festival 2015, which kicks off on 5th September, will see Australian author Tim Winton collaborate with former Powderfinger frontman Bernard Fanning and Katie Noonan for the world premier of Rise For The Oceans, a production which celebrates Australia’s marine ecosystems.
Elsewhere, A State Of Grace: The Music Of Tim And Jeff Buckley will see performers such as Martha Wainwright, Casper Clausen, Willy Mason, Camille O’Sullivan and Steve Kilbey come together to pay homage to the lives and times of the iconic father-son musicians.
Brisbane singer Conrad Sewell is also set to perform at Brisbane Festival 2015, as are Icelandic electronic duo Kiasmos — that’s Ólafur Arnalds and Janus Rasmussen — who will be making their Australian debut.
Brisbane Festival 2015 runs from the 5th to 26th September, and features a total of 456 shows spanning dance, theatre, circus, cabaret, opera, film, visual arts and music.
