Yesterday it was revealed that singer-songwriter City and Colour would be closing festivities at Brisbane Festival this year – and now, the festival have announced the full lineup this September’s music program – their largest yet.
The festival celebrates the 30th birthday of the iconic Riverstage amphitheatre, with a birthday bash kicking off proceedings on Saturday, 7th September. Hot Dub Time Machine are confirmed, along with a slew of Brisbane’s brightest stars – specifically, Cub Sport, Confidence Man, Last Dinosaurs and Clea. Sounds like a pretty good time to us.
Elsewhere on the program is The Amity Affliction’s ‘Heaven and Hell’ festival on Saturday, 14th September. The post-hardcore heavyweights will be joined by Underøath, Trophy Eyes, Make Them Suffer, Void of Vision and plenty more.
As previously announced, Dallas Green himself, City and Colour will be performing an exclusive closing night show along with The Jezabels, Asha Jefferies and more special guests TBA on Saturday, 28th September.
Other highlights on the festival bill include US indie-rock duo Girlpool, who’ll perform at the Courier-Mail Speigeltent on Wednesday, 11th September. Elsewhere, beloved Aussie icons The Middle East will perform at The Tivoli on Friday, 13th, while Eurovision finalist Kate Miller-Heidke will take the stage at QPAC on Saturday, 27th September.
