There’s a new addition to Brisbane’s live music scene, with new venue – The Outpost – launching in August. While it seems like venues are shutting here, there and everywhere in other cities along the east coast, Brisbane seems to be holding things down, with different venues of varying capacities popping up throughout the CBD and Valley regions.
The Outpost, helmed by John Collins (The Triffid), is a new 300 capacity venue which sits within The Fortitude Music Hall. Taking on inspiration a dive bar of the same name that thrived during Brisbane’s music scene back in the late 70’s, The Outpost is promising a diverse range of live music programming as well as being a new drinks hotspot.
“This Outpost is no dive bar,” Collins has said. “The team have created a stunning space that equally accommodates after-work cocktails, pre-dinner drinks, and will nurture artists, offering them a springboard on to the Fortitude stage in tours to come.”
Releasing their August programming, The Outpost is getting off to a good start with their official launch party featuring the likes of Major Leagues, Greta Stanley, Married Man and Colts.
