Britney Spears Apologises On Instagram For “Pretending Like Everything’s Been Okay”

Britney Spears fans have been following her Instagram and trying to extract clues about how she’s really doing for some time now. Now, Spears has taken to Instagram to apologise for pretending like she’s been okay.

It follows Spears yesterday telling a court that she wanted her “abusive” conservatorship ended without evaluation.

It was revealed that Spears has been trying to terminate the conservatorship since 2014 — it’s been in place since 2008.

“I truly believe this conservatorship is abusive. There are thousands of abusive conservatorships,” she told the court in a remote hearing. “I want to end the conservatorship without being evaluated. I want to petition to end the conservatorship.”

Now she’s apologised to fans for pretending she was okay on Instagram.

Britney Spears begins her post by saying, “I believe as people we all want the fairy tale life and by the way I’ve posted … my life seems to look and be pretty amazing … I think that’s what we all strive for !!!!”

“That was one of my mother’s best traits,” she wrote. She goes on to explain that her mother would always pretend things were okay for the sake of her and her siblings.

“I’m bringing this to peoples attention because I don’t want people to think my life is perfect because IT’S DEFINITELY NOT AT ALL.”

“And if you have read anything about me in the news this week … you obviously really know now it’s not !!!!”

“I apologize for pretending like I’ve been ok the past two years,” she continues. “I did it because of my pride and I was embarrassed to share what happened to me … but honestly who doesn’t want to capture there Instagram in a fun light.”

She says that pretending to be okay has helped her. “I feel like Instagram has helped me have a cool outlet to share my presence … existence … and to simply feel like I matter despite what I was going through and hey it worked.”

This morning, footage emerged of Britney performing with a fever. It follows Spears revealing in yesterday’s address that she had been forced to perform while sick.
