Oprah Winfrey will be adding to her list of huge name interviews: first, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, then Adele, and now Britney Spears.
The interview, broadcasting an unfiltered sit down with the pop singer as she finally embraces life out from under her conservatorship. The conservatorship that had kept Spears’ affairs out of her control for 13 years, was officially terminated by a judge this week.
And now, she’s ready to let it all out.
On Instagram, Spears shared hints of what’s to come from her interview with Oprah, as well as voicing her thanks to the large global fanbase that has had her back throughout this whole ordeal.
“The #FreeBritney movement: You guys rock. Honestly.” she said.
“My voice was muted and threatened for so long and I wasn’t able to speak up or say anything. Because of you guys having an awareness of what was going on and delivering that news to the public for so long, you gave an awareness to all of them. Because of you, I honestly think you guys saved my life.”
“I’ve been in a conservatorship for 13 years. It’s a really long time to be in a situation you don’t want to be in. I’m just grateful honestly for each day and being able to have the keys to my car. Being able to be independent, feel like a woman, owning an ATM card, seeing cash for the first time, being able to buy candles. It’s the little things for us women, but it makes a huge difference. I’m grateful for that. It’s nice. It’s really nice.”

Additionally, Spears has spoken about her desire to be an advocate for people who have disabilities and illnesses, now that she has the power to do so.
“I’m not here to be a victim. I lived with victims my whole life when I was a child. That’s why I got out of my house and worked for 20 years. And I worked my ass off.”
“I’m here to be an advocate for people with real disabilities and real illnesses,” she said.
“I’m a very strong woman, so I can only imagine what the system has done to those people. Hopefully, my little story – my story – will make an impact and make some changes in the corrupt system”.
