/The worst kept secret in Australian touring this week is finally out – Bruce Springsteen will be coming to Australia in March 2013.
‘The Boss’ and his E-Street Band will play arenas in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne – with a bit of room around each date to allow for more shows if they are demanded.
And, as heavily predicted, in addition to the arena dates, Springsteen will also play a special show at Hanging Rock in the Macedon Ranges (about 1.5 hours out of Melbourne) to finish off the tour.
Promoter Michael Gudinski has a property up in the Macedon Ranges and has previously staged shows there with Leonard Cohen and Rod Stewart.
Springsteen’s Wrecking Ball tour has drawn rave reviews from critics around the world – with shows lasting in excess of three hours. The LA Times described Springsteen as the “greatest musical performer of our time” and declared the show “perhaps the most inspirational show I’ve witnessed in 30 years of attending thousands of concerts.”
Ticket prices range from $99.50 – $212.35 for the arena shows, and $128.90 – $211.40 for the Hanging Rock show.
Tickets for Bruce Springsteen go on sale next Friday, December 14 at 9am local time. Frontier members will get access to a presale at Midday on Wednesday, December 12.
