It looks like Bruce Springsteen could tour Australia in March 2013 if rumours are to be believed. Triple M music reporter Nui Te Koha claims that he has offered a window around that time, and although one major promoter has backed out of talks, the dates are still on the table.
Springsteen returned with a new album Wrecking Ball in March, which lead to the announcement of world tour dates for United States, Europe and the world. Australia has always thought to be amongst those plans, but it’s just been a matter of when.
Te Koha spoke this morning about the tour plans, saying: “One major promoter has been in talks with The Boss, but he backed out saying the deal was unworkable… but we have it on good authority that those March dates are still on the table.”
We have had some rumoured dates before this, when a leaked Australian tour itinery revealed shows around August and September. These were quickly pointed out to be unbelievable when it showed a date clash for the WWE at Rod Laver Arena. Further down the track they were cancelled out by the announcement of more overseas dates around that time.
This will be the first tour the E Street band have embarked on since the death of saxophonist Clarence Clemons in June this year.
