Calvin Harris obviously rates his music-making skills much higher than his ability to whip up lunch in the kitchen.
The Scottish superstar DJ has told The Guardian that he finds it easier to make pop music than making a ham sandwich.
Harris made the comments while discussing the creative process behind his songwriting skills, saying that he finds making pop music “incredibly easy.”
“It’s incredibly easy to do, but hard to do perfectly,” Harris said.
“I’d struggle to make a perfect ham sandwich because I never make them, whereas pop music comes naturally to me – it’s what I do every day.”
In the interview, Harris also said that he definitely prefers using female vocalists in his tracks, as their vocals don’t interfere with other key elements of a song as much as their male counterparts.
“They’re (female vocalists) always at the perfect frequency to play in a club,” Harris said.
“A good, soaring, high-mid female vocal bounces off the walls nicely, and it doesn’t interfere with the bass or drumbeat.
“It’s basic science. A man’s voice is likely to interfere with the bassline, which is why you don’t hear many classic dance tracks with a male lead.”
Harris recently toured Australia as one of the headline acts for the Stereosonic Festival.
