Cardi B Teases New Song ‘Y’all Like This Vibe for CB2?’

Cardi B has yet again set Bardi Gang members into a frenzy after hinting at her subsequent release of a new track off her much-expected sophomore album.

The rapper shared a snippet to her Instagram Story, which exposed a softer side of her usually fiery raps. Fans received the potential single sampled from Janet Jackson’s “Funny How Time Flies (When You’re Having Fun)” well.

“I hope that you are on your way/ Crazy ’bout you,” Cardi sings over Jackson’s beat. “Waiting on you, can’t wait to sit on that face/ Focused on you.” The snippet ends with Cardi asking her fans, “Yall like this vibe for CB2?” while filming herself in a car. Reactions on X were overwhelmingly positive, with one fan exclaiming, “Love that song. Belcalis, you’ve done it again. So ready for cb2.

“Funny How Time Flies” was produced by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, and it features in the 1986 Control album. It was not commercially released in the US but did enjoy success in the U.K. and Ireland. It has been sampled by such artists as Tinashe, SWV, The Lost Boyz, and Camp Lo.

Cardi B took to the rostrum over the weekend, as well, to proclaim to be determined and confident about what she has planned for 2024. “I have everything planned, locked, and ready to go. Everything that I said I was going to do this year, I am going to do it. Nothing is going to stop me. I did it before—I’m going to do it again. Now rest” she wrote.

Cardi B dropped her debut album, Invasion of Privacy, over six years ago. The album debuted at the top of the Billboard 200, later winning Best Rap Album at the 2019 Grammy Awards. Fans have been waiting for whatever she drops next in hopes that it will set more charts on fire.
