Carlton AFL Player Mitch Robinson Involved In Melbourne BDO “Incident”

Photos have emerged on social media of Carlton AFL player Mitch Robinson being restrained in what looked like a messy brawl at the Melbourne leg of the Big Day Out yesterday.

News Limited reports that the 23-year-old forward was not injured in the incident; however, the set of events surrounding the incident remains unclear.

Carlton confirmed last night that they will be investigating Robinson’s involvement in the incident in the coming days.

“The club has been made aware of an incident involving Mitch Robinson and is conducting an investigation into the matter,” said Carlton media manager Michelle Trewartha.

The incident has caught the attention of forum users on a few local sport websites.

Robinson has been dubbed “the human battering ram” in his player profile on Carlton’s official website. He was recruited by the club from Tasmania in 2009 and has played 67 games for the Blues.

It’s not the first time this summer that an AFL player has been caught in a spot of bother at a music festival. Sydney Swans midfielder Daniel Hannebery was involved in a parking mishap at the Falls Festival in Lorne over New Years Eve, when a van he was sitting in rolled into two parked cars.

Update 17:28pm: Footage has emerged of the incident
