If you’re on the scout for something to do this weekend we have the perfect thing for you. The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra will be performing the music of Star Wars: Return of the Jedi in concert in Melbourne tonight and tomorrow night.
The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra will be presenting Oscar-winning composer, John Williams’ musical score to the sixth episode of the Star Wars series, Return of the Jedi in concert, led by conductor Benjamin Northey.
“This movie is such a masterpiece, the unmasking of Darth Vader remains a seminal moment in cinematic history,” says Northey. “John Williams once again enhances the drama through his perfect use of music and dramaturgy. I am beyond excited to conduct this score!”
It’s your chance to see the ultimate battle between Luke and [SPOILER] his father Darth Vader while the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra brings John Williams’ score to life.
There’ll also be pre-concert talks where you can learn more about the score for the film. You’ll hear from experts: Dr Dan Golding and Andrew Pogson from The Art of the Score podcast.
