The internet is currently buzzing with talks around the multitude of serious allegations against R. Kelly, thanks to a new documentary series titled Surviving R. Kelly. The documentary features an audio clip of Chance The Rapper calling his previous collaboration with the singer “a mistake.”
The clip, taken from a previous interview Chance did back in May according to Rolling Stone, shows him call his previous collabs with the singer a mistake while also making note of the racial and gender-based implications on why he didn’t choose to speak up about the controversy until now.
Also, in the interview, Chance made note that he made a mistake and, on Twitter earlier today, apologised to all of Kelly’s survivors.

“The truth is any of us who ever ignored the R Kelly stories, or ever believed he was being setup/attacked by the system (as black men often are) were doing so at the detriment of black women and girls,” he wrote on Twitter.
“I apologize to all of his survivors for working with him and for taking this long to speak out.”
Another notable celeb who features in the doco is John Legend, who explained his decision to appear in it on Twitter pretty bluntly.
To everyone telling me how courageous I am for appearing in the doc, it didn't feel risky at all. I believe these women and don't give a fuck about protecting a serial child rapist. Easy decision.
