Prepare your livers because Melbourne riff den Cherry Bar has just unleashed the lineup for its annual beer-soaked distortion fest Cherry Rock and it’s bloody corker, m8s.
Firstly, it must be pointed out that beloved Sunshine Coast mullet-sporters The Chats are coming, which means Melbournians will be able to catch the lads performing live for the first time since their bogan punk jam ‘Smoko’ went viral as all fark.
The bill for the 12th annual AC/DC Lane takeover also features yobbo-rural-punk legends Cosmic Psychos popping their Cherry Rock cherry, alongside some prime local and OS talent like Cash Savage and the Last Drinks, Pistol Peaches and UK veterans of the global festival circuit The Cribs all joining the racket.
Meanwhile, the legendary Kid Congo Powers (whom you may recognise from such bands as The Gun Club, The Cramps and Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds) will be hosting his infamous “Sex Beat Dance Party” from New York inside the bowels of Cherry so get in amongst it.
Cherry Rock 2018 is set to go down on Sunday, 6th May.
