UPDATE: Childish Gambino Has Cancelled His 2018 Australian Tour
ORIGINAL STORY: Childish Gambino has reportedly broken his foot, just over a month out from his potentially final ever Australian tour.
According to TMZ, the rapper AKA Donald Glover was onstage at the American Airlines Center in Dallas on Sunday night and injured himself onstage somehow, causing him to end the performance half an hour early.
A venue official has told the gossip rag that Gambino is suffering from a broken foot, after witnesses reportedly saw him hurt himself while attempting to do the splits.
Meanwhile, other witnesses have told TMZ they saw Gambino arrive at the iHeartRadio Music Festival two nights prior in a wheelchair and a leg brace, before removing it for the performance, which has lead the site to conclude that he sustained the foot injury somewhere else but re-aggravated it onstage at the Dallas concert.
It’s unclear what this means for the rapper’s imminent Aussie tour, but he does seem pretty set on powering through the injury so far.
ICYMI: Gambino will be heading down under to headline Canberra’s Spilt Milk festival in November, as well as performing a bunch of headlining sideshows.
It’s part of his This Is America tour, which is currently winding its way around the US.
He recently announced onstage that the tour would be his last ever, and drove the point home again in Dallas prior to his injury.
