Chiodos guitarist Thomas Erak has officially left the Michigan band less than two months out from the group’s 2015 Australian tour behind fourth album, Devil, which was released in April.
Erak shared news of his departure via his Twitter account today, and said he hopes to spend more time working on music for his original band, The Fall Of Troy. “I have stepped down as the guitarist for Chiodos to focus on TFOT’s new album and home life,” Erak tweeted. “I wish those guys the best with all!”
Luckily, Erak has been quick to note that Chiodos have already locked in a replacement guitarist for their forthcoming tour dates. “They got an awesome replacement and will rock!” Erak has said.
Devil marked the first Chiodos album to feature Erak, who officially joined the band in January 2013. Erak’s departure comes less than a year since Devil‘s release, and only a few months after Derrick Frost and Matt Goddard also decided to leave the band.
As Alt Press have noted, Chiodos replaced Frost and Goddard with former Mars Volta drummer Thomas Pridgen and RX Bandits’ Joe Troy on bass.
