Chris Brown Albums Plastered With ‘This Man Beats Women’ Stickers

Another day, and again Chris Brown‘s all-round-douche and Rhianna-bashing antics have come back to haunt him.

NME reports that shoppers at HMV stores have informed them that copies of Brown’s new album Fortune have been defaced with advisory labels warning people not to buy the LP because he “beats women”.

This is obviously in reference to his assault on former girlfriend Rhianna after a Grammys after party in 2009, which led to the couple separating soon after.

The stickers, which bear the message “WARNING: Do not buy this album! This man beats women!” are thought to have been placed on the albums by anti-domestic violence campaigners, according to NME.

They were first spotted in a Cambridge branch of HMV, and the first photo was tweeted by Cambridge University Student Union Women’s Campaign, though the organisation – whose stated aim is to “represent women students in Cambridge and campaign for gender equality.

The phrase on the stickers draws on the very blunt review of Fortune written by Chad Taylor a few months back.

A HMV spokesperson said the company had no involvement in the distribution of the stickers, and the stickers had now been removed from all CDs still in stock.

“These were spotted and quickly removed, but, before we could act, the individual concerned must have taken a photo and sent it to the media. To our knowledge there are no further stickers in our stores now.”

It’s been a rough week for Brown: earlier this week, he was criticised for his new neck tattoo, which looked very similar to an image of Rhianna’s beaten up face from their tussle a few years ago.

And recently, his new album Fortune was also the subject of what many are describing as one of the best reviews they’ve ever read – after the author ripped into Brown about his music and his morals.
