Scottish trio CHVRCHES have revealed their third album Love Is Dead will arrive in May, and to celebrate they’ve released a new song featuring The National frontman Matt Berninger.
Set for release on 25th May, Love Is Dead features the track ‘My Enemy’, which sees Berninger and CHVRCHES frontwoman Lauren Mayberry taking tag-team vocal duties. Stream the song in full, below.
Mayberry says Love Is Dead is about growing up and “coming to terms with the fact that there are great things in the world and there are awful things in the world and that you can’t get one without the other”.
“We’re f**ked, the world is f**ked,” she says.
“But there’s an ellipses at the end. It’s Love Is Dead. Like, how did we get to this point? And how do we move on from this point? It’s Love Is Dead, we’re f**ked, what’s next?”
‘My Enemy’ follows Love Is Dead‘s lead single ‘Get Out’, as the second song to be taken from the follow-up to CHVRCHES’ 2015 album Every Open Eye.
