In what will be his only Australian side-show for 2014, City and Colour, a.k.a Dallas Green, will be making his Sydney Opera House debut, return to Sydney in classic confessional form while in the country as a part of the massive Splendour In The Grass lineup.
Celebrating a decade since the phenomenal groundswell that brought us the haunting debut album Sometimes, the singer-songwriter will be following last year’s critically-acclaimed tour of marathon band performances with his stripped back Concert Hall debut, taking the stage solo with his trademark falsetto and the songbook of offerings that brought 2013’s The Hurry and the Harm.
“City and Colour struck Australia like lightning in 2012 – now we’re proud to welcome him to the Opera House,” said Ben Marshall, Head of Contemporary Music at the Sydney Opera House. “His warm, elegiac, bare-bones work will resonate beautifully in the Concert Hall this winter.”
Returning for a career-celebrating Opera House debut in the epic setting of the Concert Hall, Dallas Green will guide audiences through his most panoramic release yet whilst taking City and Colour back to where it all began in its classic, intimate form.
Tickets on sale to the general public Thursday, 22nd May at 9.00am.
