Oh God, Clive Palmer Wants A “Sing-Off” With Twisted Sister’s Dee Snider Now

UPDATE 30/04/21: Clive Palmer To Pay $1.5 Million In Damages After Losing Twisted Sister Lawsuit

The saga involving United Australia Party leader Clive Palmer and former Twisted Sister singer Dee Snider has reached its next logical ridiculous point, with Palmer suggesting a “sing-off” between the pair in order to settle an ongoing legal battle over his use of the Twisted Sister song ‘We’re Not Gonna Take It’ in political campaign ads.

Palmer yesterday called for Snider’s upcoming Australian solo tour to be cancelled over the singer’s refusal to back down, after he called out Palmer for using ‘We’re Not Gonna Take It’ without permission earlier this month.

Snider claimed Mr Palmer knew about the required licensing fee and has been ignoring a cease and desist order from Twisted Sister’s lawyers.

Now, in an apparent attempt to settle things out of court, Palmer has tweeted, “I would love to join Dee Snider on stage for a sing-off of my ‘Australia’s Not Gonna Cop It’ and his version so fans can decide which one they like best. I’d be happy to be part of the tour when he visits Down Under.”

In swift response, Snider turned the billionaire politician down in spectacular fashion.

“First you want my visa pulled, now you want to join me on stage? I knew you were a closet fan…NO! #thief #criminal #lowlife #charlatan,” he said.

Yesterday, in response to Music Feeds‘ story regarding Mr Palmer’s claims that Twisted Sister “swindled” ‘We’re Not Gonna Take It’ from the Christmas carol ‘O Come, All Ye Faithful’, the Twisted Sister legend said, “Hey Clive Palmer, my inspiration came from God; yours came from a heavy metal rockstar. I’m not as forgiving.”

Snider is scheduled to perform four solo shows across Sydney and Melbourne between January and February, which Palmer will hopefully steer well clear of.
