Come Together 2010 Lineup Announced

Update: Come Together 2011 Line-up is here

If there’s one good thing about still living in a constitutional monarchy, it’s the Queen’s birthday long weekend. I mean, does anyone really care that the old hag is celebrating another year of lording it over a country on the other side of the world? No, we’re in it for the time off work and the chance to reassert our reputation as a nation full of party-hardened convincts.

I got a bit off topic there I think… The point is, the Queen’s birthday weekend is also when the Come Together festival invades Luna Park, and as always they’ve announced a cracker bunch of local artists to fill the big top for two days of musical goodness, with a couple of international acts to sweeten the deal.

Here’s the official lineup so far:

Fresh off Triple J’s one Night Stand, WA four-piece Gyroscope take the trip over the Nullabor returning to Come Together on the Saturday. Breaking out in 2008 with the massive Breed Obsession, Gyroscope have toured relentlessly since, only taking time out to put the finishing touches on their shiny new album Cohesion.

Joining them on Saturday, Bris Vegas rockers The Butterfly Effect, punk (and boat) rocking faves Frenzal Rhomb, Philadelphia’s The Loved Ones (US) make their first trip down under together with punk rock royalty Strung Out (US). Progressive hardcore upstarts House Vs Hurricane will also be certain starters to get the joint jumping. MM9, Deeznuts, Heroes for Hire, Cirlce Pit and Jericco round out the Saturday…for now.

Sunday sees Lismore’s finest, the ARIA award winning festival regulars, Grinspoon leading the charge. Erupting onto scene winning Triple J’s inaugural Unearthed competition, Grinners haven’t gone anywhere since. With their sixth album Six to Midnight doing the rounds, Grinspoon are set to remind the Come Together faithful why they are one of Australia’s much loved acts.

Sunday also sees the indie kings and queens strut their stuff led by British India with material from their latest album Avalanche, Triple J darling Bertie Blackman, Oz hip-hop’s current heroes Horrowshow and rising rockers Calling All Cars all taking centre stage. Dead Letter Circus, The Jezabels, Boy & Bear, Ernest Ellis, The Snowdroppers and Last Dinosaurs make for a super Sunday, and there’s still more acts to be announced.

Music Feeds had a great time covering the festivities last year, and hopefully we’ll be there again this year (if they’ll have us.) You can have a look at our footage from the weekend here.

Presale tickets for both days of the festival will be available Tuesday 6th April at midday (AEST) until 5pm on Wednesday 7th April (AEST) or until tickets sold out, so be quick!

Tickets are on sale to the General Public Thursday 8th April at 9am (AEST). Click here for full details.
