Comedian And Actor Bob Saget Dead At 65

American stand-up comedian and actor Bob Saget has died at the age of 65.

As TMZ reports, Saget was found dead in his hotel room in Orlando, Florida, having performed a stand-up show in Jacksonville the previous evening. It’s unclear what Saget’s cause of death was, but the Orange County Sheriff’s Office said there no signs of foul play or drug use in the case.

Saget rose to prominence starring as widowed father Danny Tanner on Full House between 1987 and 1995, alongside John Stamos, Dave Coulier, Candace Cameron, Jodie Sweetin, and Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. He reprised the role for Netflix sequel series Fuller House, from 2016 to 2020.

Saget hosted America’s Funniest Home Videos from 1989 to 1997 and provided the voice of the future Ted Mosby on How I Met Your Mother. He had a memorable cameo in the film Half Baked, and appeared in episodes of Entourage, Law & Order, Shameless and more.

Outside of his work on screen, Saget was a popular stand-up comedian known for his raunchy adult-oriented material. He had a memorable Comedy Central roast in 2008, which included Norm Macdonald (who himself recently passed away) delivering one of his most iconic performances.

Multiple fellow comedians and actors have paid tribute to Saget on social media, including his Full House co-star John Stamos. “I am broken. I am gutted. I am in complete and utter shock,” Stamos wrote. “I will never ever have another friend like him. I love you so much Bobby.”

Others who paid tribute included Marc Maron, B.J. Novak, Gilbert Gottfried, Whoopi Goldberg and more. See tributes to Saget below.
