It was the best of times, it was the Conchita Wurst of times. Everyone’s favourite bearded female winner of Eurovision (take THAT, no-one else) is en route to Australia, set to launch her album from our fair shores and sneak in a red carpet appearance at our most esteemed night of nights, the 2015 Logie Awards.
Having won over the globe with her powerful, song-contest-topping anthem Rise Like A Phoenix in 2014’s Eurovision last May, the super-star is ready to put the Austria in Australia, heading down under next week ahead of next Sunday’s (May 3rd) Logies in Melbourne.
Wurst’s debut album, named the very Cher-esque Conchita, is due May 15 and will feature the very on-brand new songs Put That Fire Out and Where Have All The Good Men Gone. Ugh, preach!
Wurst’s home country of Austria will get the favour returned when Guy Sebastian represents Australia for the very first time at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, which is sure to go down just great. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Until then we simply have to wait for a boozed-up Karl Stefanovic to say something inappropriate to Conchita on the Logie red carpet to get our fill of lols.
