Corey Taylor Is Auctioning Signed & Used Guitars For Coronavirus Relief

You can now get your hands on a guitar belonging to Corey Taylor, with the Slipknot and Stone Sour frontman announcing he’ll be auctioning off instruments for coronavirus relief.

The sale is now LIVE on eBay, and is set to run through til early May, with 13 guitars up for grabs.

There is a range of bass, electric and acoustic guitars up for grabs, with Taylor having signed all of them. Some have been used in performances by the musician too.

Among the highlights are a Gold Top Gibson Classic Les Pau, a pearl blue Gibson Dave Grohl Signature (one of just 200 that exist), a gold metallic Gibson Memphis Dave Grohl DG-335 (one of just 400 to exist), a tan Fender acoustic guitar and a black SDGR bass.

Here are some of the bids so far:

All proceeds from the auction will be going to Direct Relief who help profile PPE and other essential equipment to healthcare workers in the US.

Taylor also revealed that each comes with its own certificate of authenticity, and a case.

Bid on 13 used and signed guitars I’m auctioning off to benefit DirectRelief ‘s COVID-19 efforts,” he tweeted. “Every guitar comes with a case and COA.

“Lets help DirectRelief provide PPE and essentials to healthcare workers.”

eBay will be matching each donation of up to $1 million, so get bidding!

Taylor postulated about the future of the music industry after the coronavirus pandemic, suggesting that smaller gigs would likely be on the cards.

He said that he’d be keen to do smaller, more “intimate” and throwback” Slipknot gigs. “We’ve actually talked about doing something like that for years, and doing a throwback show.

“And doing a throwback show in a way where we wear the old gear as well. It would be insane.”
