Corinne Bailey Rae, Cymande + More Added to 2024 WOMADelaide Lineup

The lineup for WOMADelaide 2024 has gained three-dozen artists, including English pop and R&B performer Corinne Bailey Rae, veteran London funk and soul group Cymande, trip hop acolytes Morcheeba, Irish musicians Lisa O’Neill and Cormac Begley, Portuguese fado performer Marta Pereira da Costa, Estonian and Võru folk musician Mari Kalkun, and more.

A number of artists based in Australia have also been added to the program. There’ll be performances from Philippine/Wiradjuri songwriter Mo’Ju, Ethio-jazz band Black Jesus Experience, Japanese violinist and electronic producer Elle Shimada, Ngāpuhi and Ngāti Kahu singer-songwriter Jen Cloher, Arnhem Land hard rock band Wildfire Manwurrk and more.

WOMADelaide’s first lineup announcement was led by Brazilian musician and Tropicália progenitor Gilberto Gil, Zamrock legends WITCH, French touch duo Alan Braxe and DJ Falcon, aka Braxe + Falcon, London jazz drummer Yussef Dayes, Swedish singer-songwriter José González, Pakistani folk, jazz and Sufi musician Arooj Aftab, Jamaican festival favourite Ziggy Marley, and loads more.

The lineup now encompasses performers from Pakistan, Senegal, France, Ukraine, Japan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Estonia, South Korea, Brazil, South Africa, Réunion, Cambodia, Belgium, Tunisia, Jamaica, Zambia, India, Vanuatu, Portugal, Sweden, Chile, Rwanda, Lebanon, Tanzania, Haiti, Angola, Ireland, Mexico, Uganda, Tibet, USA, UK and Australia.

The annual festival – whose name is an acronym for World of Music, Arts and Dance – will run from Friday, 8th to Monday, 11th March in Adelaide’s Botanic Park/Tainmuntilla. Tickets for the four day event are on sale now. You can find everything you need at the festival website.
