The Counting Crows Singer Reckons Gang Of Youths Are “The Best F*cking Band In The World”

The lead singer of Counting Crows froths Gang Of Youths even harder than you do.

Adam Duritz, who gave us such universally beloved soft rock bangers such as ‘Mr. Jones’, the Shrek 2 theme ‘Accidentally In Love’ and Joni Mitchell cover ‘Big Yellow Taxi’, has shared some hefty words of praise for the Sydney act, after catching their set at New York’s Irving Plaza on Tuesday night.

“Best fucking band in the world right now is blowing up #IrvingPlaza,” Duritz posted alongside a clip of Gangs’ performance on the official Counting Crows Insta. “@GangOfYouths is…unreal.”

Continuing his fanboy moment, Duritz also shared a bunch of snaps from the gig – including one of himself hanging backstage with the band — captioned with some lyrics from their triple J Hottest 100 charting hit, ‘The Deepest Sighs, The Frankest Shadows’.

“‘Cause not everything means something / So say the unsayable / Say the most human of things / And if everything is temporary / I will bear the unbearable, terrible triteness of being’ —The Deepest Sighs, The Frankest Shadows,” he posted. “Say YES to @GangOfYouths!”

It comes after Gang Of Youths wrapped up their sold-out Say Yes To Life Australian tour.

One Sydney date had to be rescheduled to Thursday, 31st January 2019 after singer Dave Le’aupepe came down with a chest infection.

Check out Duritz’s posts below.
