The UK edition of Creamfields has been cancelled after being hit with massive flooding that turned the festival site near Warrington into a gigantic swamp.
Runcorn and Widnes World reports that organisers Tweeted to festival patrons, informing them that the site was “closed due to adverse weather conditions following continuous heavy rain throughout the night.”
No serious casualties have been reported, but local police are in the process of setting up alternative exits for all the soggy campers to leave the site. Extra public transport services have also been organised.
NME.com editor Luke Lewis tweeted this picture of the Creamfields site, which depicts it as quite a muddy mess.
