Electronic trio Crooked Colours have shared their first single for the year, ‘Feel It’. It’s a slinking, atmospheric cut anchored by hazy synth pads and heady, kinetic rhythms.
“This is a song that was created in the U.S. on one of our first writing trips together, realising the work it took into being fortunate in this position but still wanting more from our career,” the band’s Phil Slabber says. “Realising that you can always do better if that is detrimental or not. This song encompasses a lot of hard work but at the same time the pursuit of something better.”
‘Feel It’ is another taste of the band’s forthcoming third album. Details around that album, which will follow 2019’s Langata, are currently under wraps. The new song follows a string of singles throughout 2020 and 2021, like ‘Love Language’, ‘Falling’, ‘No Sleep’ and the Masked Wolf and Jasiah-featuring ‘Light Year’.
Crooked Colours have also announced an Australian and New Zealand tour that will kick off in Wellington on Thursday, 28th July before a pair of shows in Auckland. They’ll play Perth’s Fremantle Arts Centre on Friday, 19th August before shows in Brisbane, Adleaide, Melbourne and Sydney in September. The band will be joined on the road by Pacific Avenue and Kinder. Tickets for those shows are on sale tomorrow (13th May).
