One of Britain’s most thrilling new indie rock acts Rotating Leslie will release their exciting debut ‘The Walls Have Ears’, this 23rd of September on Cross Section through Inertia. With lead single “Send In The Lions” already featured on L.A’s KCRW, Britain’s Radio One and receiving national airplay in Australia, Japan and Europe, Rotating Leslie are proving one of the most enticing artists to emerge this winter.

Mixed and produced by long time friend and sonic wizard Pete Watkins, ‘The Walls Have Ears’ was crafted in the band’s rehearsal room – of which they have lived in for four years – in the beautiful English countryside. Undoubtedly the place where the group felt most comfortable, the secluded environment meant that the raw and ferocious energy of Rotating Leslie’s live performance was perfectly captured on the album. Referencing a range of idols from The Strokes and The Hives to Santogold and Beastie Boys, Rotating Leslie have formed a brand of indie-pop that mixes striking chords, empowering chorus lines and delicate guitar melodies to create a sound that is distinctly their own.
Hailing from suburban Hertfordshire, England, Rotating Leslie met at school and forged their friendship over 3 years while DJ-ing as part of the London Acid Techno scene. As the parties fizzled the band found themselves turning more and more to their guitars, and relocation to an old farmhouse back in Hertfordshire saw the band come into fruition.
For four years the group, lived, wrote, practiced, recorded and partied on the farm, playing hosts to the now legendary Woodendstock festival in their back garden. Soon enough they were scouted by the head of XFM, Andrew Philips, and taken to play a sold out showcase on the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles. They have since conquered other showcases including Musexpo Europe and Liverpool Sound City, as well as securing spots at the iconic Isle of Wight and Reading/Leeds festivals this year.
