Crowded House Postpone Australian Tour As Neil Finn Tests Positive For COVID-19

Crowded House are midway through their Dreamers Are Waiting Australian tour. The band played at Bluesfest over the weekend and have completed headline dates in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Bowral.

However, the remainder of the tour is being pushed back to a later date after frontperson Neil Finn tested positive for Covid-19. The postponement is effective immediately, meaning tonight’s (19th April) show at Hobart’s Mystate Bank Arena is no longer going ahead.

The postponement also applies to the band’s show at Canberra’s Royal Theatre on Thursday, 21st April, and A Day On the Green events at Geelong’s Mt Duneed Estate on Saturday, 23rd April, and at Bimbadgen in the Hunter Valley on Sunday, 24th April.

In a statement posted this morning, Finn said, “I am absolutely crushed to have to postpone to last 4 shows of our Australian tour as I tested positive yesterday morning for Covid. We were staying in our bubble and observing very strict protocols but somehow the virus still slipped through.”

Finn, 63, said he is “only experiencing mild symptoms” and expressed gratitude “for the protection that my triple boosted vaccination is providing.”

New dates for Hobart, Canberra, Geelong and the Hunter Valley will be announced soon, as well as dates for three sold-out shows at Perth’s King’s Park. Original tickets will be valid for the new dates without the need for exchange.
