A friend of ex-Yacht Club DJs member Gareth Harrison has started a GoFundMe campaign to help the producer and DJ replace thousands of dollars worth of stolen equipment.
Harrison had his “Macbook and the hard drives with his back ups” stolen, according to his friend Tristan who created the GoFundMe page.
“This means that he has lost all his work, his ability to earn money, his productions and 10 years of hard work.”
The total cost of the equipment stolen adds up to over $7,000, but people have already donated more than half of that amount to the GoFundMe campaign, at the time of writing.
Harrison is best known as half of the party-starting duo Yacht Club DJs, however, they finished up in 2014 and he now operates under the moniker of Champagne Internet.
When the gear was stolen Harrison took to Facebook writing, “My studio just got robbed. No music from me for the foreseeable future. Thanks for listening.”
It looks like he may be back on his feet soon though with it looking more than likely that he will reach the $7,000 target. That won’t bring back the tunes lost but it will help replace his equipment.
“Gaz has begrudgingly given me permission to set up this GoFundMe campaign but he will be eternally grateful for any help you can provide,” Tristan wrote.
