Wollongong-raised, Melbourne-based two piece Cry Club have blessed us with their new single today, titled ‘Robert Smith’. On top of that, they’re also taking the banging new single on an east coast tour in 2020.
The band have also dropped a new video to go along with the single, and it’s just as riotous and fun as you might expect.
On the new single, produced by Gab Strum of Japanese Wallpaper fame, lead vocalist Heather Riley says “quintessential Cry Club – honest, earnest, and too much attitude.”
“We’re always expected to take the high road and be gracious, but don’t you ever just wanna go apeshit?” they explained further in a statement.
“Why are the coolest people the ones who don’t appear to be trying at all? WHY are you suddenly embarrassing and uncool for wanting so bad to be cool? Also, how come Morrissey turned out to be a white supremacist…?” All important questions to be honest.
“Everyone wants to be self-centred and everyone wants to be someone else, admit it already and dance through it!!! BE THAT BITCH!”
The tour will kick off in Melbourne, before taking on dates in Mona Vale, Sydney, Byron Bay and Brisbane.
