The constantly shape shifting experimental post hardcore heroes Dance Gavin Dance have announced their well-overdue return to Australian shores in support of their forthcoming album Acceptance Speech.
The band were last in town as part of Soundwave 2010 where they performed a run of sidewaves with partners in crime All Time Low. Ah, memories. This will be the band’s first stint Down Under with their new frontman Tilian Perason (ex-Tides Of Man) opening up a world of possibilities as to what we can expect from the band.
The same could be said for Acceptance Speech, as the band has made a habit of never taking the same form twice with their albums. Their experimental approach to the usually stale post-hardcore genre coupled with the back and forth of their dual vocals has put Dance Gavin Dance head and shoulders above the pack.
We’ll have to wait for the album to drop – expected internationally on Tuesday, 8th October – to find out what they’ve been scheming. Tickets for the tour go on sale at 9am AEST this Friday, 30th August.
