Danny Carey Says Tool Already Have Heaps Of Stuff For Their Next Album

Music fans generations from now we’ll never know what it felt like to endure the 12 year wait for Tool‘s latest album Fear Inoculum, but it looks like we won’t have to wait that long for the next one.

In a new interview with Metal Hammer, drummer Danny Carey said that the band have a whole stack of material ready for Fear Inoculum‘s follow-up.

“My hope is we get in and knock out another record,” Carey said.

“We have tons of material. It’s not going to take 12 years, or if it does, I’ll probably be so old I probably can’t pick up my sticks any more! But my hope is we’ll do another record and just keep moving forward.”

Of course, we’re not about to get the new album next year – we are optimistic, not stupid. But Carey did give us a general idea of how long the band will be focusing on Fear Inoculum, though.

“We’re going to tour on this probably for two or three years at least, I imagine,” he said.

“It feels like what we’ve done on every album, and then I guess we’ll see where we’re sitting after that.”

As long as they bring that tour to Australia, we have absolutely no problem with waiting. Just not 12 years.
